His first release of 2019, rapper J. Cole released a new single titled “Middle Child.” The track, produced by T-Minus, focuses on the generations of hip-hop and where Cole finds himself among them.

“Middle Child,” drops references of Drake, 21 Savage, Jay-Z, and Kodak Black. In his verses Cole defines his goals for the year and expresses his distaste for unnecessary “beef” between artists.

J. Cole shared on Twitter last week that recording for the newest compilation from his label, Dreamville, is complete. Fans can look forward to Revenge of the Dreamers III in 2019.
