The Governors Ball Music Festival is almost upon us. Featuring stacked lineups all three days, the festival offers something for everyone. To help attendees create their daily schedules, we put together a list of artists to consider checking out each day of the Gov Ball festival, starting with its kickoff on Friday.

Alexander 23

Alexander 23 is a singer, songwriter, and record producer who has accumulated hundreds of millions of streams on his indie-pop tracks. The artist has collaborated with artists such as Selena Gomez and Jeremy Zucker, as well as co-produced Olivia Rodrigo’s mega-popular “Good 4 U.” 2022 saw Alexander 23 open for John Mayer on his “Sob Rock” tour. Now, the artist is bringing his tunes to Governor’s Ball.

MICHELLE

MICHELLE is an indie-pop collective based in NYC offering dreamy, genre-bending tracks. Their latest release, a single titled “THE PEACH,” is a groovy summer track to blast on the backroads with the windows down.

070 Shake

070 Shake fuses hip-hop, pop, and alternative influences to craft her unique sound. The artist has appeared on albums by Nas, Kanye West, and Pusha T. Last year, 070 Shake featured on the TikTok-viral track, “Escapism” by RAYE.

Tai Verdes

Tai Verdes is a singer-songwriter who gained recognition in 2020 with the release of his first single, “Stuck in the Middle.” The track went viral on TikTok, amassing millions of streams. His feel-good song “AOK” from his debut album TV went RIAA 2x Platinum and further cemented Verdes’ spot in the music industry.

Remi Wolf

Remi Wolf is a singer and songwriter blending together influences of pop, funk, and soul. The artist is the genius behind hit tracks such as “Photo ID,” “Woo,” and “Disco Man.” She also appears on tracks with Cautious Clay and Still Woozy. Last year, Wolf supported Lorde on tour before setting out on her own headline run.

Ice Spice

A New York native, Ice Spice is a rapper who skyrocketed to fame in 2022 with her track, “Munch (Feelin’ U).”

The artist’s debut EP, Like..?, was released earlier this year and featured tracks “In Ha Mood” and “Bikini Bottom.” The track “Princess Diana” was remixed to include Nicki Minaj. Ice Spice also featured on PinkPantheress’ track “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2,” which has amassed hundreds of millions of streams.

Kim Petras

Following the surprise release of her 2021 EP Slut Pop, singer-songwriter Kim Petras has continued to dominate the charts. Her collaboration with Sam Smith, “Unholy,” made history as it topped Billboard Hot 100, making Petras the first openly trans woman in history to top the chart. Additionally, “Unholy” won the artist a GRAMMY for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” alongside Smith.

This year, Petras appeared in Megan Trainor’s track “Made You Look.” The singer also shared a single titled “Alone” with Nicki Minaj.

HAIM

Comprised of three talented sisters, HAIM is a band paving the way in the pop and rock genres. The release of their third album, Women In Music Pt. III, earned the group a GRAMMY nomination for Album of the Year in 2021. Their notable live show earned them another nomination that year for Best Rock Performance.

Earlier this year, HAIM performed as an opener for multiple dates of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour. The band also featured on Swift’s evermore track “no body, no crime” which has amassed almost 200 million streams on Spotify.

Lizzo

Last but not least, RIAA multi-platinum certified artist Lizzo will close out the first night of Gov Ball on Friday. Her latest album, Special, reached number two on the US Billboard 200 chart and won her the GRAMMY for Record of the Year in 2022. The record brought us the top hits, “About Damn Time” and “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready).”

Lizzo’s live shows are marked by her high energy, feel-good tunes, and soaring vocals. Her headline set at Governors Ball on Friday is sure to close the night on a high note.
