The Madness Of Many tour, featuring Animals As Leaders, stopped at the Palladium for a night of remarkable performances. Joining the three-piece progressive metal outfit were Veil Of Maya and Alluvials.
Preceding the opening of the main stage, local talent kicked off the night with unique and noteworthy sets. Bands included In Honor Of, Inari, Of Nations, and Kingsmen. Next, Alluvials opened up the main stage, which was already flooding with eager fans.
The Palladium was packed when Veil Of Maya took the floor. Opening with hits off of their latest release, Matriarch, the group engaged fans from the start. “Nyu,” “Leeloo,” and “Aeris” were some crowd favorites performed from the new album. The metal group included songs off of older albums as well, including “Punisher” off of their 2012 release Eclipse, “Unbreakable” off of 2010’s [id], and ‘It’s Not Safe To Swim Today” off of their second album The Common Man’s Collapse. Veil of Maya closed with a bang, playing fan favorite “Mikasa.”
Finally the lights dimmed and Animals As Leaders took the stage, opening with “Arithmophobia” and “Ectogenesis” off of their 2016 release, The Madness Of Many. The group immediately blew spectator’s minds with their elaborate guitar riffs. Fans were headbanging and crowd surfers began flooding to the front. The setlist progressed into “Tooth and Claw,” “Kascade,” and “Physical Education” off of their 2014 album The Joy of Motion and “Do Not Go Gently” off of 2011’s Weightless. Animals As Leaders closed their mindblowing set with their hit song “CAFO” off of their self-titled first album. The experimental metal trio push the normalities of the metal genre, infusing jazz, classical, and electronic influences in their music to create a truly remarkable and unique experience.
Animals As Leaders head out on their European leg of the Madness Of Many Tour later this month with special guests Nick Johnston and David Maxim Micic. Don’t skip out on an unforgettable live experience.
