Wavves had the HI-FI in Indy packed on a Monday night for their You’re Welcome Tour. Wavves is a four-piece rock band from San Diego, California. On May 19, they released their sixth studio album, “You’re Welcome.”

The first band that played was Post Animal, who are a rock and roll band from Chicago. Their music is relaxed, with a lot of detailed riffs. The psychedelic feel to their music is reminiscent of Tame Impala, however they put their own twist on the genre. Parts of their set were filled with instrumentals, and you could see the crowd grooving right along with the band.

Waaves hit the stage shortly after, and filled the venue with fast surfer punk jams that steadily got the crowd more and more rowdy. The energy in the room was intense. It didn’t take long for fans to start moshing and crowd surfing. The band encouraged stage dives as well, and welcomed fans to come up and leap into the crowd.

The set-list was a perfect mix of old and new music. Wavves seemed to play a bit from each album, playing singles from the new record while also making sure to hit fan favorites such as “Nine is God,” “My Head Hurts,” and finishing strong with “Green Eyes,” which got the whole crowd hyped.
