The Massachusetts and Connecticut local scenes came together last week to play a wild show at Sammy’s Patio in Revere, MA. Despite the inclement weather, people came from all over the area to join in on the fun.
Light It Up! hopped on this show last minute, and good thing they did. The group recently finished up their Wasted Years Tour in support of their new EP Wasted Years and decided to treat Revere to a show. The group opened the show with a bang, filling the room with pop-punk vibes and jaw-dropping vocals. The Days Ahead followed, keeping the momentum but taking a heavier turn to the punk vibes of Light It Up.
Half Hearted followed, playing a set FULL of energy. The bar was deserted during their set, as everyone was either moshing, dancing, or learning the words to their addictive songs. The Worst of Us was no exception either, hitting the venue hard with music off of their latest EP Divide (check this out if you haven’t. I am a definitely a new fan).
In Honor Of played next, opening their set with a cover of Knocked Loose’s “Counting Worms.” The band proceeded to play, in many attendee’s opinions, one of their tightest sets to date. Justin Brown made his debut on bass as the band’s newest member. The show was Dan Smallacombe’s last as the vocalist of the band. He put in 100% and left everything on the stage. Their set ended in a mountainous pig pile to show support. The emotion and passion present in In Honor Of’s set that evening was untouched.
Despite it being late, Eyes On Satellites closed the night with a dynamic performance. The band is full of determination, and it really shows in their high-energy live sets.
Check out the photos from the show below, and be sure to support all of these talented bands!
