This weekend The Plot In You kicked off the “Watch The Divide” tour at Toad’s Place in New Haven, Conn.

The past five months have been busy for The Plot In You, as they completed a fall headline tour and released new singles, “Divide,” “FEEL NOTHING – RESET,” and “Left Behind.” The band also received a Gold certification from the RIAA for their track, “FEEL NOTHING.” Now, The Plot In You is back on the road with Holding Absence, Thornhill, and Banks Arcade.

Fans of all bands on the tour lined up early Friday evening outside of Toad’s Place. Inside, the walls are lined with photos of iconic artists who have graced the stage of the New Haven venue and set the bar high for future performers.

The first night of the tour featured support from Banks Arcade and Thornhill. International travel delays prevented Holding Absence from playing on opening night, but they have since joined the tour.

Australian electro-metal group Banks Arcade opened the show with an energetic set. Playing songs off their newest album, Future Lovers, as well as popular tracks “Drown” and “Sick,” the band commanded the growing crowd’s attention.

The energy continued as Thornhill took the stage. The Melbourne natives had the crowd hooked on their dynamic sound and rich vocals. Thornhill’s setlist fused their latest album, Heroine, and 2019’s The Dark Pool. Their set closed with fan favorites, “Where We Go When We Die” and “Arkangel.”

Finally, excitement was high when The Plot In You stepped onto the stage. Fans erupted in cheer as the band jumped right into “Divide,” their 2022 hit single. The set continued with a selection of favorites from their latest album, 2021’s Swan Song, before diving into even newer material

The Plot In You treated the enthusiastic New Haven crowd to the live debuts of their new single, “Left Behind,” and an unreleased track titled “Forgotten.” Both songs received a warm welcome from fans. The band also played a handful of songs off their 2018 album DISPOSE.

In addition to the newer material, The Plot In You seemingly turned back time as they performed a variety of older favorites. The band sent long-time fans into a frenzy as they tore up the room with a thunderous performance of “Troll,” off 2013’s Could You Watch Your Children Burn. The set followed with more throwbacks off The Plot In You’s 2015 album, Happiness in Self Destruction.

After bringing the bulk of their set to a close with one last track each from Swan Song and DISPOSE, the band came back out for a one-song encore. The action-packed night came to an end as fans sang along to the last chorus of their hit song “FEEL NOTHING.”

Overall, The Plot in You continues to evolve as a unique force among metal and post-hardcore bands. Weaving together melodic and heavy elements, the group constructs a dynamic sound that carries through to their electrifying live performance.

The “Watch The Divide” tour is in full swing, making its way across North America over the following months. Fans old and new should be sure to catch a show when it comes through their area, as the setlist has something for everyone. Check out our photos from The Plot In You’s New Haven, Conn. show below!
